  • Growth stage Adult
  • Difficulty Appreciates a little care

DESCRIPTION

Origin : Peru, more precisely Andes region.
Personality : Appreciates a little care.
Earmark : Its extra-large velvety leaves and striking light-yellow veins.
Say something smart : Originary from a very limited geographical space, the Anthurium Regale has been first identified in 1888.  It has since then evolved into a must-have for rare plant collectors, particularly because of its ability to grow humongous leaves in the right conditions. Some people reported theirs have reached up to 90cm large.

CARE

Which container?

A planter usually looks nice, but we recommend not to plant your new baby directly in one.
Leave it in its current pot until Spring, then ideally transfer it into a terracota pot with little drain holes when it looks cramped.

Finding its place

Brightness : High level of brightness, but no direct sun.
Avoid letting it feel draughts near the windows and take it away from heating sources.
Humidity : 70 % or more.
Tip : Place some wet clay pebbles under the pot, so they keep diffusing humidity.
Tip 2: invest a little air humidifyer to help you keep a constant atmosphere.
Temperature : Min : 18°C | Max : 26°C | Ideal : 20-22°C

Day-to-day care

Watering (purely indicative, depends on your local environment): because of its origin and natural habitat, the Anthurium Regale is quite demanding in terms of water (both in terms of soil than air humidity). We recommend to simply make sure their soil never gets dry, by moderately watering in regularly rather than waiting for the soil to dry out and then overwatering it.
Fertilizer : Once every other week, from March to September
